You can’t assume this guy is this defensibly talented based on one year’s worth of UZR data, even UZR/150 can’t make up for the year to year fluctuations. I’ll give you that he’s always had a good rep in terms of range, and that moving him to left would almost certainly turn him into an elite fielding LF should he start, but its not time to anoint him the next Frank Gutierez or anything.
I do think that if the yankees are gonna trade Melky or Brett they should try to keep Brett because of the defense. Him and Granderson will catch enough fly balls to make up for the times Siwsher is too high to get to easy pop ups.
