Cash on LF/CF scenarios (updated)

Quick Analytical Blurbs

Playing Brett Gardner in center field remains a possibility even though All-Star Curtis Granderson will enter spring training with the job.

"We've talked to Curtis about it as well," Cashman said. "If we feel that a better team exists with Curtis Granderson in left and Gardner in center, if that actually shows itself, our job is to put the best team and best alignment on the field, and that's what we'll do."

Update 2:53pm:

Granderson's agent, Matt Brown, said via e-mail on Friday that his client is willing to do whatever the Yankees ask. In recent days, the Yankees have left open the possibility that they may ask Granderson to move from a position where he has been an All-Star.

"He's more than fine with it," Brown said.

It’s not a matter of being tough, Butcher. Your posts are consistently whiny and unintelligent, and most people here think we’d be better off without them.

Leave Curtis in center, so next year he won’t be rusty when Crawford is playing LF next to him.

So unintelligent that ESPN analysts make the same points I do…after I already have made them.

A dude calling me a bitch on the computer is trying to be tough…because in real life no man has ever called me a bitch.

Just sayin’. But keep hating LOL. I enjoy it.

I think that if Butcher doesn’t like this website, then there are lots of Yankee fan sites out there that he could spend his time on. NoMaas is one of the finest, but if he would prefer a different type of analysis, go away and let the people who support the GM at the head of the most structurally sound franchise in American sports in peace.

  18. have to ask – is there really that much of a defensive drop off between Gardner and Granderson? Gardner obviously has the speed to track down balls and has a much better arm than I’d heard, but didn’t Granderson start the All Star Game last year? i haven’t seen him play many games, so i don’t feel I can properly gauge his speed, glove or arm strength properly. If they’re both as good and as fast as i think they are, they can both take a step toward right field and give Swish a hand; not picking on Swish, but he’s clearly the weakest link out there defensively… still can’t believe he hit so many more home runs on the road than at home… maybe this year… anyway, don’t argue with the Butcher, it clogs up the boards

I have to think on the scale of things fans consider when they vote for All Stars, defense is almost non existent. It’s a combination of longevity, holy trinity stats and Q-score.

  20. Sean says:

ESPN: the barometer of intelligent sports analysis. “The Yankees are going to win the division because they know how to win and they’ve been there before.” I just made a point that ESPN analysts will repeat 100 times between now and the start of the season. It’s really nothing to brag about. (Sorry, BernieWilliamsDay. I know it floods the boards, but I can’t help myself. Back to real baseball stuff now)

I’m new here, but I did not know this chat room was like “The Bachelor” and you could vote some one out? No rose for Butcher?…c’mon guys, get your focus back on the Topics. I am kinda hoping Gardner or Wynn goes down in spring training, and Johnny be good is still hanging around unsigned.

Thanks HGH. I just want to talk baseball! Sometimes my opinions different…I’m not a stat head, but I do respect stats…I just watch a ton of baseball games and judge players on how I actually see them play.
