Despite operating in poverty-stricken conditions, Boston made two moves this past Tuesday which impressed us.
The first was signing ultra-defender Adrian Beltre on 1-year deal to play 3B. The second was moving Mike Cameron to CF and bumping Jacoby Ellsbury over to LF. More info can be found here in an article written by T-Kep.
Beltre is going to save Boston a ton of runs, as he’s one of the best defensive players in the game. Plus, you figure Fenway will help his bat a great deal. He could be a very valuable player in 2010.
Moving Cameron to center because he’s the better fielder in that position isn’t rocket science, but it requires putting egos aside and doing what’s best for the team. It also happens to be what we want the Yankees to do with Gardner and Granderson. And before you yell at us over Gardner, just read the original post we made about this. Reading comprehension is fun!

P.s. Damon is a DH. And Ankiel has a .311 *career* OBP. Gardner’s? .325 OBP.
Seriously, man, get your head out of your ass.

“Seriously, why would you rationally choose Hairston over Gardner?”
Troll.

Now I hope they start Gardner anywhere in the OF. He is the greatest player of all time.
Can’t wait to see him weakly ground out OVER AND OVER next year.

“Damon’s a DH” yeah because he’s DH’ed full time throughout his career. He had so much trouble last year in LF. I can’t believe how awful he was for us last year.
Learn the game son.

If you’d rather have Brett Gardner in LF next year over Johnny Damon…you are a mongoloid retard.
I guarantee that whoever Damon signs with…they do not use him as a DH full time.
Johnny Damon>Brett Gardner…I can’t even believe I have to entertain these arguments.
I love it that I am the official villain of Nomaas.

And their pitchers will hate them for it. Adam Dunn is allowed to pick up a glove too… that doesn’t mean he shouldn’t be a DH. Damon has no arm and declining range. He’s a bad outfielder these days. Nobody’s arguing that he’s a worse hitter than Gardner, but the defensive difference is something preposterous, like 3-4 wins. Also, I’m happier they spent his money to acquire Javy. While I’m comfortable with either Joba or Phil starting, you need more than five starters. Having one of them as #6 is even better, IMO.
