I could care LESS about his power numbers. This line up ought to be able to produce enough power without homers from Gardner and I think some guys will improve - Swisher only hit 9 homers at home last year; that should go up. If Teixeira and ARod are both healthy all year, they'll both hit more homers than last year. I think its possible Granderson will hit more homers this year than he did last year, too - I think power should be the least of the Yankees worries. Winning helps to infuse the players tightly together. This team showed great chemistry last year and I can see it continuing on to this year. I expect big years out of Jeter, A-Rod, and Mo. The monkey is off their backs and now they can just go out there and play baseball. The wins will come, and they will come more often than not. This team believes in themselves and believes in winning. I love the fact that Girardi insists they all spend time together and hang out w/ one another outside of the clubhouse. It’s something we were missing for years aside from the obvious goal of a winning a championship. The 2009 Yankees humbled me in a way that I’ll never forget. They truly deserved to win last year rather than in previous years where they felt they just had the right to win based on the uniform they wore. Yankees 2010, Boston stinks. Looking back on what a player did, there's a rather minimal difference between making an out on a K vs. on a batted ball. When you're at the plate though, putting the ball in play is preferable to striking out, because simple randomness is going to dictate that every batted ball has at least some chance of resulting in you reaching base.
