Matsui will be honored before the game when he gets his World Series ring.
"I think it's great that he's going to be here because of what he meant to our club last year," Yankees manager Joe Girardi said. "You wish all the guys could be here.. . To me, it's going to be good to see him and to be able to give him that ring as well because it's well-deserved.. . I think it's fitting he's here."

If anyone deserves it its Matsui… I still remember the guy apologizing for breaking his wrist…class act.

All I know is that he deserves a standing ovation tomorrow and ANYONE who boos this man isn’t a real Yankee fan. For what he did for the Yankees not only over his career but especially in the WS, he’s a made man in my book.

Agreed. Matsui will be cheered, and he’ll probably poke one or two into the porch. Unfortunately for him, the Yankees will still win the series.
