They feel the pain and struggles of the American people

From Dan Shaughnessy on SI.com

Boston loses its heart and soul as year of hurt, hardship continues

The loss of Pedroia is the one that will linger, the one that stings. The Sox have been able to withstand a lot of hurt and hardship this season, but losing Pedroia strips them of their heart and soul.

Trying to turn the negative into a positive, Francona said, "We've played with so much better personality in the last one and a half. It's a good feeling. This team is forming it's own personality which is great.''

Tough to do when the little guy with the big personality is on crutches.

Cause the Yankees have had no injuries this season?

Shaughnessy is such a homer. He does not belong on a national media outlet.
Maybe Pedroia can get some vitamins from Big Papi.

I’m sorry…. did he die?? I feel like we’re talking about Munson here, the little fuck will be back in a month.

I am a Yankee fan who lives right outside of Boston…even the a-hole ignorant Sox fans hate this guy. Carl Everett(the villain of Mussina’s ner perfecto) dubbed him CHB in his years here (CHB= Curly haired bitch) and Curt “Slim” Schilling also called him that. Fuck him. Not like the Yankees have had any injuries this year. But watching this year with the Sox injuries is almost comical. They definitely have us beat this year. Oh well.

“They pulled to within a half game of first place a week ago and are 1 1/2 games out of first after the Yankees’ comeback win on Sunday.”

The Red Sox are 2 games back. Fact checking: not that hard.

  7. Shaun says:

@Cucch Sox fans will take “they definitely have us beat this year” as a small victory, since you know, they can’t be in 1st in the division.

I just think there’s too many excuses coming out of Boston these days, if it were the Yankees, the same excuses would be shot down by “they have a 200 million dollar payroll” has any of those people SEEN our bench recently? I think the entire bench combined earns less than a million a year. The Red Sox went into the season with pitching and defense in mind, and it hasn’t really worked throughout the entire season, they should be viewed as a failure, regardless of the injuries they have. If you want to compete in the AL East, you better have a deep roster, I don’t think the Sox have that this season.

  8. K says:

Not to mention the Red Sox BENCH makes almost $30m this year.

    Hermida – 3.5m
    Varitek – 3m
    Lowell – 12.5m
    Hall – 8.5m

With that much money invested in their bench, the Sox should be able to withstand any injuries they have this year.

I guess they don’t know how to spell in Boston. “This team is forming it’s (sic) own personality which is great.” The word is “its,” you redheaded bitch.

“Tough to do when the little guy with the big personality is on crutches.” – The diminutive bastard’s short, not disabled. I don’t understand why ESPN reveres him like he’s playing through Down’s Syndrome rather than an underwhelming puberty.

“I’m sorry…. did he die?? I feel like we’re talking about Munson here, the little fuck will be back in a month.” – I’m still laughing about his 10 minutes after I read it.

When you have a team making $11.50 and hour you can ill afford to replace guys like Pedroia.

  13. JoeThunder says:

Someone else is just going to have to step up w/ some man-sized grit to replace Pedroia’s.

  14. CB14 says:

Honestly Sox fans wonder why their team is despised nationally. The Phillies have lost Jimmy Rollins for long stretches of time and I hear no bullshit coming from them. The Mets were without a healthy Reyes for a while, lost Maine and have gotten nothing from Beltran, not a peep. The Angels lost Kendry Morales and other pieces and no bitching. But these cocksuckers lose some manpower and a national day of mourning is called for? Suck it and die. Tampa you better curb stomp these fuckers or you should be embarrased.

sure, the Red Sox lost some players to injury… but none with as much grit, hustle and determination as Pedroia…

I hope Shaughnessy gets hit by a bus, what a douche…

  20. MemoriesOffAnime says:

OH MY GOODNESS A BASEBALL PLAYER GETTING INJURED FOR A MONTH OR SO! WHEN DO YOU SEE THAT HAPPEN? This really is a sight to behold, folks, a player getting injured! I mean, what are the chances of that?

For sake, Teixeira is hitting like Chris Davis(at least BA-wise), and our starting DH was gone when shorty when down and will still be on the shelf when leprechaun comes back. To top all that Jorge was injured for a while and we were stuck with Cervelli and Moeller (I’m pretty sure any fantasy owner would have picked Hall, or whoever Francona plug at second, over Cervelli before the start of the season.), while Javier pitches like a drunk guy who’s sober once in a while. I’m pretty sure NYY had more problems to deal with than BOS.
Besides, I don’t remember hearing such whining when 1/3 of the Mets starting lineup went down last year either. Typical moronic writing.

In 2003 Derek Jeter got hurt in the first game of the season and missed the next 6 weeks. The Yankees went 25-11 while he was out. Fuck you, Red Sox. Deal with it. We did.

Joe, not sure about you…but I really don’t like that Strasburg kid. Who is he to come into MLB and succeed right away. I mean he should have to wait his turn to be good.
