Led by Javy Vazquez’s second straight quality performance and another hitting clinic by Robinson Cano, the Yankees were able to avoid the sweep in the Great White North, besting the Blue Jays 4-3.
In his last two starts, Vazquez has pitched a total of 14 innings, struck out 16, walked 5, and only allowed 5 hits. Hopefully, this is the beginning of a new trend.

Where are the haters at now?
Haters June 6, 2010 19:27
We’re too preoccupied with Teixeira’s crappiness to give a rat’s ass about Javy
Voomo Zanzibar June 6, 2010 19:32
I like how Mo ‘accidently’ came into the game. Think he was trying to make a point?
Hating on Haters June 6, 2010 19:34

Although I didn’t stop by to say hi to Tex today. I will be back about three or four times next game. Good thing the Yankees spent all that money on a bust.

Anyone who says they can predict baseball doesn’t know what they’re talking about.
Snooki June 6, 2010 20:49
But Joe morgan says he can’t pitch in a big spotlight so i say we wait until he starts at home to see what he really can do.
Al Leiter June 6, 2010 20:57
20 more wins to go buddy.
Tim McCarver June 6, 2010 22:32
I think most of Vazquez’s success today came from his ability to throw pitches that batters did not hit.
Tim McCarver June 6, 2010 22:48
Now why isn’t Charlie Manuel sending the runners here to avoid the DP ??? Oh man, I just do not understand this move.
Now this gives a chance for the Yankees to get out of it, What are you doing ???

All you have to do is follow three simple rules:
One, never underestimate your opponent. Expect the unexpected!!
Two, take it outside. Never start anything inside the bar unless it’s absolutely necessary.
And three, be nice.

Would you look at that? Oh, that’s a shame, look at that…
I know you people out there are listening on radio and have no way of seeing the replay the I am looking at, but I am going to continue telling you “look at that”.
stickq June 7, 2010 09:55
I am glad he is pitching well but I still don’t like Javy Vazquez and will never trust him in a big game. Out of our five starters he is relegated to the pen come post season. Which I still hope he is saved for an instance where the run differential is heavily in our favor.
Arnold June 7, 2010 10:42
So if he continues to pitch like this, you still won’t trust him?
jimmy June 7, 2010 10:50
wait, the yanks smoked the jays? which game were you watching? the jays blew it, weekend should have been a sweep. it’s funny how nomaas doesn’t even acknowledge yankee loses like they never happen. the yankees did nothing yesterday to earn the win, it was given to them.
Arnold June 7, 2010 11:06
Doesn’t acknowledge Yankee loses??? Where have you been the last 5 years?
Steve June 7, 2010 14:49
it’s funny how nomaas doesn’t even acknowledge yankee loses like they never happen.
This is nonsense. I’d say more than half of the posts here are pretty negative.

Also, I enjoyed the fake Flaherty comments.
