On the day he was announced as the final American League All-Star, Nick Swisher delivered a 4-for-4 performance against Seattle to lead the Yankees to their 6th straight win. Alex Rodriguez delivered a crucial 2-run single in the 9th to break a 1-1 tie, and Mariano lowered his ERA to 1.05, pitching a perfect inning to close out the game.

Wait… that picture looks like it might be photoshopped…

There’s NO way Swish rode that chariot down a city street. NO WAY!

6 straight wins, A-Rod is hot, Swish goes to the all-star game, Pettitte wins #11, and Boston still sucks. Not bad for a Thursday night.

Fat Boy at the Boston Globe chimed in with his opinion on Swish making the all star team:

“Swisher, unlike the more reserved Youkilis, promoted himself throughout the week. He and the Yankees also used Twitter far more effectively than did the Red Sox. Swisher has 1.2 million followers on Twitter, which is what likely helped make the difference.”

Reserved? Yeah I guess whining like a pussy after every called third strike is reserved. At least Swish looks like he is enjoying himself, unlike Glen from the Village People.

  8. Don’t forget in last night’s stirring win Posada drove in a run when he ground into a DP. He contributed.
