Youk is out OPS-ing the world right now, there’s no baseball-based argument that says Swish deserves to play in this stupid, pointless game over the Hebrew.

Youkilis is one of the best players in the AL. It’s pretty ridiculous Girardi didn’t choose him. That said, Boston sucks.

Compared to that, Swisher can play 1B and OF. Some managers enjoy having versatility on the bench (Hence Jerry Hairson Jr. and Ramiro Pena, to the most recent Kevin Russo)
Then again it doesn’t really matter about 1 single player. The bench is full, and in my opinion, going 1 2 6 7 at home is not much better than 3 4 5 at home. Sometimes it’s the middle 3 games that turns a series around.
