Nova impresses, doesn’t back down to Bautista

Here's the video of the pitch to Jose Bautista.
73 pitches though? Even the kids at the Little League World Series get more than that (85).

What a fucking bitch. That ball wasn’t even fucking close. Can’t wait to see that piece of shit crash down to earth.
How hard can a guy crash down to earth after hitting 40 HR before September?
Bautista whining bitch.
Reminds me of Manny Ramirez and Roger Clemens (I think). A pitch up and not ‘in’ at all that the batter gets all heated about. Bautista is standing over the plate.
More importantly, Ken Singleton is hands down my favorite Yankees announcer.
I’m having a hard time recalling the last time a Yankee acted like that. Can anyone remember?
Nova = trade bait.
Lifetime ban for Ivan Nova!!!!
Nova went all Che Guevara on Bautista
I mean how is the guy going to crash down? He has 40 jacks. What’s he going to do? Not hit another home run and finish the year with only 40?
Idiots on this site.
Crashing down = getting busted for whatever form of PED’s he took to go from a career high of 16 homers to 40 before september.
I think “crashing down” meant next year, when he hits 20 home runs and then gets busted for PEDs
Anyone notice the mocking fist-pump Bautista did as he crossed the plate in the 8th? That to me looked like he was mocking the Cervelli fist pumps after a big strike out. This isn’t over by a long shot, and that guy is going to get hit by some Yankee pitcher sometime over the next 8 games.
And by the way – he isn’t a good hitter. You can get him out with soft stuff away (well, pretty much anything away, actually). The only pitches on the inner half of the plate to him for the rest of the year should be directly into his ribs.
Singleton and Flaherty do a great job, especially singy. Nice to have a break every once in a while from the annoyance Kay
great video on so many levels…. good for Nova, stand up for yourself, it wasn’t even that close of a pitch. Bautista is a puss
Bautista’s 2006-2009 HR totals:
16, 15, 15, 13
Bautista’s 2006-2009 OPS+:
94, 96, 91, 101
Now at age 29 he has 40 HR and a 162 OPS+ with a month to go. “Crashing to earth” means he will regress to his career line.
Nova is very brave considering he doesn’t have to get in the batter’s box and his own teammates are holding Bautista back. Another classy Yankee.
Here was the exchange:
JB: Hey mang, don try ang thro dis ball by my cabeza, hombre. I cutchoo, mang.
IN: I no try ang heetchoo mang, but no threaten me, all my famillia ees een gangs, jefe.
JB: Dontchoo know? I am een a gang myself, maricon!
IN: Maybe we een the same gang, hermano. We are ammigos.
JB: You wan hot or mild salsa weeth your chalupa?
crashing to earth = roids wearing off
not advanced stats
Gotta love it, the kid showed more guts in 5.1 innings then Javy Vasquez has in 13 years.
How can you question taking him out? He’s a rookie making his ML debut. Emotions got high in his last inning so why run him back out there? take him out on a good note with tons of positives. I think it’s a little foolish to expect even more from a kid but hey i watch the games, nomass doesn’t. If you just look at the box score, yeah, bring him back out.
@Col. John Matrix — Exactly. Just as Cervelli does when the yankees win, Bautista did it in his face! He’s gonna pay.
@Good Stuff
You do watch the games, that’s true. You’ve apparently watched every Javy Vazquez start over the past 13 years. That’s impressive.
Fag.
It’s definitely more important for a young kid to leave with a good feeling than to squeeze another 20 pitches out of him.
@fusilli- nice name haha, good surface area maximization for sauce.
@ everyone crashing down or not two words:
Aaron Hill
Come on fellas, that pitch missed by two feet. Why don’t you go and enjoy a nice cup of bigelow green tea together. Mmmmmmm . . . bigelow green tea, it’s easy to love.
Like Nova’s pitch, Steve S’s reference was a little bit off, and compltely over everyone’s head…
Like Ivan Nova before him, Steve is getting a lifetime ban.
shoulda drilled him in the back. guy hangs too far over the plate.
Hard to put blame anywhere in this game, just a frustrating loss made more frustrating by that a-hole Bautista getting the last word in… for this game at least.
is someone a Javy Vasquez fan awww did you get upset that i called him gutless, aww hopefully mommy makes you a snack to cheer you up.
“fag”
Is Brett Pedroia out of jail yet? I wanna hook up with him
me first RAB little boy
he was just dehydray
Bautista has hit 40 homeruns. If he continues to hit more homeruns than everyone else….he’ll lead MLB in homeruns this year.
Something tells me that the conversation between Nova and Bautista was akin to monkeys jabbering away in trees.
