**Supposedly, Granderson starting against one of the best lefties in the game was due to Gardner getting a mental health day. That's the only way you could remotely justify Granderson's inclusion today. If we see Granderson against the lefties of Texas, then we'll....make a funny picture of Girardi??

Wow what a series by the sox. 6 games out and their team has had injuries. They are the only team in the history of sports to be decimated by injuries. Tito is doing the best job of his career holding a team with a 150 million dollar payroll in playoff contention.

Brett Gardner is hitting .164/.301/.230 since the all-star break. If Girardi felt he needed a day off, why do we think that is so crazy? Sometimes managing is about knowing who needs a break.

Looking silly is not something I take into consideration when advising my adult patients to get braces. I am almost positive that Brett Gardner’s mild overbite leads to his inability to steal a base in a big spot.
Yeah we should have won the series, but at least we did not lose any ground and I think The Yankees have now adopted Josh Beckett so that Pedro is no longer the only one who calls the Yankees daddy. I thought Hughes looked pretty good as did Sabathia so all in all a good series.

It wasn’t just Granderson who failed when all he needed was a sac fly in the 7th. I seem to recall the Cap’n having a nice, efficient 3 pitch strike out in that inning with only 1 out.
That fan didn’t interfere with the ball. It was pretty clear from the replay that he never touched the ball. Could he have distracted Kalish? Sure, but he never touched the ball.
