Deep Thoughts by NoMaas’ Gary Wallace

Three questions for our minor league specialist...
Hey Gary, we all know this season was an excellent one for Yankee prospects. But, were there any kids who didn't meet expectations?
Jeremy Bleich is one of the bigger letdowns. Shoulder injury = not good. Kelvin DeLeon was also a guy who could've been Top 10 in the system if he lived up to his prodigious talent. Unfortunately, he's a hacker with bad pitch recognition. Zach McAllister (pre-trade, of course) was a huge disappointment. Romine's second half was brutal, but he picked it up towards the end of the season.
Hey Gary, you sexy beast, where do you think the minor league publications will rank the Yankees' system heading into 2011?
Yanks should be Top 10. Jesus Montero is really the only real elite prospect they have at the moment. Brackman, Banuelos and Betances (and Gary Sanchez in a year or so) could all get there, but they have big questions surrounding them. Brackman needs to keep improving like he did this past season, Banuelos needs his velocity to keep up and regain his control from '09, and Betances just needs to stay healthy. All those guys should be BA Top 100. Stoneburner has an outside shot.
Hey Gary, you filthy swine, did any farm system have a more positive year than the Yankees?
The Royals farm had a great year. Mike Moustakas (huge power 3B), Wil Myers (good hitting catcher, might not stick), Mike Montgomery (LHP, beastly) lead their group. I don't keep up with other farm systems save for the real notable guys, but by all accounts, the Royals should be #1 this year, thanks in no small part to those three.

I agree that KC, by far, has the best farm system. That is a true statement.
Gary Wallace makes me sick.
We need Jesus.
Gary please refrain from using the term “beast” it’s childish and played out
“Gary please refrain from using the term “beast” it’s childish and played out”
Good thing I didn’t use the term “beast”. Rather, I used a word that implies Mike Montgomery was like a beast, not a literal beast. I understand that he is, in fact, a human being and made sure to keep that definition clear so as not to confuse anyone.
Please let me know what other adjectives/adverbs you prefer I not use and I’ll make sure to keep a list.
Thanks Gary, you the man. Just a pet peeve of mine when people say this guy, that guy, he’s gonna be…..a beast. Drives me nuts but then again, I’M NUTS.
I dream of cupping the balls of Kelvin DeLeon while I sing a Journey song to him. He’s my beast.
Gary, which one of the “killer B’s” makes it to The Show first?
Gary:
excellent analysis. Thanks.
for disapointments, another name to add to the list is Adams (2nd base). Despite the injury, he looks like a good one
“Gary, which one of the “killer B’s” makes it to The Show first?”
Going to have to go with Brackman. He’s improved markedly in the past season, is going to be another year out from TJ and doesn’t have the injury checkered past of Betances.

I forgot about him. Definitely disappointing to see him go down to an injury after the start he had. The questions about his defense remain, but his bat should be good enough to play somewhere in the MLB. The only positive was that his injury allowed Corban Joseph to get some time at AA late in the season.
I think there were like four or five guys from the Royals system on team USA for 2010 Pan-Am…
Hosmer, Moustakas, Duffy, Collins, and I think Montgomery was on it too??
And the only guy from our system is… Royce Ring?
Wonder if other prospects will be on other teams…
Gary, do you have dreams of how handsome Mixe Axisa and Ben Kabak are over at RAB?
There are many douches at RAB, but I have no problem with Bexy.
gary gives good head
Highly interesting. Keep these posts going.
Okay, I really need to stop surfing and go to bed. Why is this so hard for me every single night?
