Yes, heaven forbid anyone talk about the game that just happened, considering there’s no thread for it and that this is the most recent one and thus the one most likely to get discussed.

Fred- please make a list of acceptable topics for future reference. Also point me towards the NoMaas commenting rulebook so I don’t err again.

    Idiot.

I am loving it but let’s not act like Boston’s ACTUAL roster is 10 games back. They’re experiencing what the Yankees went through in ’08.

Yeah but Bahston is dead as a doorknob.

No matter how much ESPN claims that Bostons starting pitching is so great (while Lackey and Face pubes continue to be the victims of the drunk frat dude vs nerd girl scenario)… they have no chance of making it back.

And you know what? I won’t be rooting for them ever. TB is gonna get the WC, I doubt they make it past us, I’d rather have Boston finished off for good, cause that way WC is the worst case scenario for us.

  11. The Truth says:

Barton Bickle: Wrong what happened to us in ’08 was we lost Wang which can’t be denied, however our offense sucked and we pretty much trotted out an injured Pettitte, a very good Mussina and crap for the balance of the season. Boston save for Chin pubes has had most of their rotation throughout the year.
What ESPN and “the nation” Seem to forget is that Tampa and us were kicking their ass pretty good when they were healthy. They basically have sucked all year save for a hot streak in June,

Fuck you guys!!! This shit isn’t over yet. We still have 3 weeks to make up ground and we will. If we go 24 – 3 and TB goes 9 – 18 we’ll be popping that champagne up here in Beantown baby!!!! Whoo!!!!!! And if the Sox get in watch out, anything can happen!!!! Clay, Lack, Les, and Beck and are deadly in a short series. And how about our bench??!?!? Mostly made up of cast offs and has beens and we’re still over .500. If we had out full roster we’d be 130 – 16 right now. We’re starting our comeback trail today. We’re going to pull off the comeback of the regular season ages. Francona will win Manager of the Year and we will win our 8th World Series title! WHoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooHooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  19. Actual Red Sox Fan says:

As a rational human being, it is annoying to hear other sox fans talk like “Boston Red Sox Fan” above, he’s not that far off from a lot of the things I hear people say. They did suffer a large amount of injuries, mostly on the offensive side, and some of the pitchers were out for a bit. If they had everybody healthy they’d be fighting right now for a spot in the playoffs, but I still think the bullpen would ruin them. The pen has been lousy (including Papelbon, who blew his 7th save yesterday), so even if they made the playoffs, I think they’d be gone in the first round. I actually want Tampa to smack them around just to put the final nail in the coffin and shut up these other dumbass fans over here.

There, I said it. Looking forward to watching the Yankees and Rays fight it out for the World Series, they’re the best 2 teams in baseball. I won’t root for you (ever), but I’ll respect a good team.

What exactly is the humor in your comments anymore? You supposedly hate RAB yet read it often enough to keep up with their posts, and without even making a joke about it, decided to inform us all about a post out of like the 6 they have daily that you didn’t enjoy. Can we not use this space for RAB reviews?

  28. Famous Original RAB Guy says:

I generally love RAB’s information, but the one guy writes terribly boring and irrelevant articles (and he’s a complete douche). Also, the message board members are generally unfunny and easily offended. My comment above was very funny. You must be you-know-who or his mother. You must be him, because you didn’t get the joke. He never gets any jokes.

You guys are really losing it here. I miss the old nomaas. All that goes on here now is crappy posts with horrendous photoshops and talking garbage about teams (especially the red sox, jesus). I hate the red sox as much as anyone, but who gives a crap about them now. Open your mouth when there’s a strong rivalry going, not this nonsense. Don’t even bother when they’re on the brink of elimination. Get ur game up nomaas.

Oh boy. Watch the games for the entertainment, then read the stats to understand how good the player’s are. Any real analysis of how good a team is comes from at least a basic perusal of statistics – the only difference is what statistics people use.

I can olny speak for myself but i come on here at work. Most blogs are blocked so i have slim pickings. I found this site last year and loved it and found myself coming here throughout the day.

Then they re did the site format (it sucks) and seem do do nothing but post whiny bitching yankee posts daily. Little talk about games, pennant races, etc, but plenty of bitching and moaning about Jeter, Arod, etc, etc.

So now i check the site in the a.m and that’s it. I’m actually surprised the latest cut and paste jeter piece isnt up yet? or even a link to fangraphs to show that Cano is having a good season by his balls hit to left field in day games while a non-latino is on deck percentage?

or watch the games, see the stats and it’s not hard to understand how good someone is. Made up garbage like UZR or WAR add nothing. Sites like fangraphs are more comical then useful.

LOLOLOL, I know you’re probably trolling, but I have to point out that NoMaas’s focus or methods have not changed a whit since last year, and if you really enjoyed the site in ’09 but don’t enjoy it anymore, it’s probably because you’re offended that they’re (rightfully) slamming Jeter (or other players you have a crush on). For instance, during the 2009 season, there were a ton of entries and graphics discussing UZR and other statistics you despise.

Just my opinion, but if any of the clowns from EITHER group could perform in their chosen category of complaint(s)… they would. And in an interesting twist of irony, its the douchebags on this site that keep me coming back… Entertainment abound here at Nomaas!!!

I think it’s misunderstood here. The “faggots” here are the ones bitchin about the irrelevant red sox who are 9 games back, and not discussing more important information about their own team (CC in barbecue sauce and 30 commenters pretending to be Brett Pedroia isn’t important information). I ain’t goin nowhere, but I can open my mouth whenever I want. That’s why it’s open comments you morons. If you don’t like it, YOU can leave. Either that or beg nomaas for membership emails.

    c) don’t like the discussion
    d) don’t like the analysis
