I thoroughly enjoy how A-Rod is slugging 1.000 in 37 official at-bats. Spring training or no, locked in is locked in.
Of course Colon has a 12 K/BB ratio in 9 innings, so I guess it’s a push.

So many times it happens too fast, you trade your passion for glory. Don’t lose your grip on the dreams of the past, you must fight just to keep them alive. It’s the eye of the Diaz it’s the thrill of her cooch risin’ up to push our home run total higher…and another fading starlet stalks her way to her seat and she’s watching him now with the eye…of the Diaz.

The superior minds in the RAB comments seem to think that depth is the most important function of a pitching staff, so all decisions should be made based on who can be optioned to the minors. I actually saw a comment that said April games don’t mean as much as September games.

The thing about Colon, as well as he’s pitched, he played winter ball. So it stands to reason he’s closer to his apex for the season, which will bring his wear down earlier, especially at his age.
Of course this is just looking at stamina in it’s most primitive form. I usually don’t know what I’m talking about.

Would you rather have 100 innings of quality pitching, then an injury, or 160 innings of mediocre pitching?

Not saying that is what will happen, but that seems to be the choice right now.
