Daily News:

Rafael Soriano’s MRI didn’t show any additional damage to his right elbow, but the Yankees took the cautious approach with their $35 million reliever, placing him on the 15-day disabled list Tuesday.

Soriano said Monday night that he wasn’t upset to have missed the last two games against the Red Sox or the two-game series against the first-place Rays, as the Yankees had not been in position to hand him the ball with a lead in the eighth inning over the course of their six-game losing streak.

“I don’t think the bullpen is the problem right now,” Soriano said. “I think it’s the hitters.”

Tuesday, Girardi didn’t seem pleased to hear what Soriano had said. “My thought is, we win as a team and we lose as a team,” the manager said. “Everyone on this club can always do a little bit more. That’s the bottom line. You can take that for what it’s worth.”
