In the middle of May, we posted two separate articles analyzing Nick Swisher and Jorge Posada. At the time, there was much weeping and gnashing of teeth over the horrid seasons both were having. Swish seemed to have totally lost his 2010 mojo and was carrying a slash line of .218/.333/.303. As for Posada, the general consensus was that his urine-aided career was done after he went .179/.287/.366 through May 17th.
Despite the grotesque results, we concluded that a deeper look at their statistics revealed that both players’ true talent levels were right where they were last season, and that they’d be fine.
Here’s how they have performed since our articles (through completion of June 29th games):
Swish: .278/.405/.541
Jorge: .318/.384/.500
Holla!

I’m actually a little surprised with how Jorge is hitting but I knew Swisher and his unlucky HR/FB rate would regress positively. Our offense kicks ass.
