In yet another win over a National League team, the AL East-leading Yankees slugged their way to a 12-2 victory over Milwaukee. Leading the Bombers’ attack was Nick Swisher, who continues his resurgence.
It’s funny what a little bit of luck will do. Back in the middle of May, Nick’s BABIP was .255. It’s now .274. His HR/FB rate has increased from 5.1% to 11.4%. Everything is normalizing for Swish.

Swisher relished his opportunity against the Brewers.

The Yankees are the best team in baseball. According to Pythagoras, they should be 50-27.
George Furburger June 28, 2011 23:21
Again, we did lose 4 games late because of bullpen scuffles so yes those numbers are correct! Not to mention the dumb amount of games we had rained out on use.
Honey Badger June 29, 2011 08:45
If you include the games that our starters lost for us, and the ones where the offense didn’t come through, we would be undefeated!
Dave Ortiz June 29, 2011 13:05
They can’t stop me though. I am the Yankee Kryptonite, the glass heel, the Tormacher Stone!
Tremble before me you pussies! Feel the heat of my aura! Anus nibblers!

Spit on your hands while hitting some more Mr. AWESOMENESS of the terrible lamb chop beard.
Mr. Beer June 29, 2011 00:07
This offense looks pretty good with a SS that’s a light hitter but good baserunner in the #9 slot.
Ben Kábak June 29, 2011 11:13
Nunez would have been an all star this year.

It’s too bad they’re nothing compared to the Boston Greatest Team on Earths.
(Who are now .500 against teams in Major League Baseball not called the Yankees)
The Truth June 29, 2011 08:13
You mean the team that is whining about the fact that their DH has to sit in NL parks. You mean the team that is stupid enough to put Adrian Gonzalez in right field tonight to placate this man. While I would never wish injury on anyone, let’s just say I hope it happens so the Red Sox brain trust has to justify the stupidity of this move.
Jay Destro's Weenie June 29, 2011 10:40
Don’t count chickens before they hatch Dormant Jizz. In a short series you think they will tremble at seeing AJ and Garcia?
The Truth June 29, 2011 12:31
AJ is the wild card he should think he is in Toronto when he pitches against them next time. Hopefully Hughes will be back by then. As for thier rotation, I hope we see Lackey, Wakefield and what other shit they throw up against the wall. It seems Francona wants his best to face us, shouldn’t Girardi do the same?
Montero's Agent June 29, 2011 13:19
Exactly….about time Girardi played the match up game with the roatation. Enough of us throwing the back-end of the rotation. 1-8 would indicate a need to do this.
Steve June 29, 2011 16:24
There are a lot of things to get on Girardi for, but I don’t see how this is one of them.
There is only so much shuffling you can do with a rotation and it usually requires an off day to play with.
The last time the two teams met, there was an off day, so he flipped CC and Nova to make sure CC started against Boston. Not sure who are these Yankees pitchers that Girardi should be “lining up”…
DormantUlcer June 29, 2011 16:04
Who gives a shit about a short series? If they play .500 ball against the rest of the league, they won’t make the playoffs anyway.
DormantMoron July 1, 2011 15:16
Yes. They will. Dummie
Robin Yount June 29, 2011 06:25
If I were in the lineup we would have stood a chance.
