Observations: Brett Gardner leads all major leaguers in UZR/150 and it isn’t even close (Howie Kendrick 2nd with +21.4). Eduardo Nunez is El Stinko on the field. Swish continues to look like Ozzie Smith. Both systems still don’t like Cano, despite how smooth he appears. Curtis Granderson continues to rate poorly and there was a great article on ESPN about it. An MLB scout was quoted and stated that Granderson “does not react well off the bat, almost as if he has a depth perception problem….”

Nunez has looked much better in the field recently with regular playing time. He did have that stretch where he would commit error upon error but that seems to have subsided.

If cano is worse than jeter, and swisher is better than granderson, can it be any clearer that these stats are totally made up? The entire espn article written to justify bogus fielding stats doesn’t explain how a fielder universally recognized as poor, swisher, grades out as well above average.

…but I think the numbers are pretty easy to explain.
Granderson doesn’t call Gardner off enough balls. Gardner makes the play that Granderson should have. Makes Gardner’s range look great, and makes Granderson look like shit.
Replace Gardner with somebody crappy and Granderson’s UZR will start to look MUCH better.

You’re wrong. While Gardner may take balls away from Granderson, he also prevents Granderson’s UZR from dropping. So replace Gardner with someone else and Granderson’s UZR could be worse.

Where the fuck do you point to say that Swisher is “universally recognized as poor?” He’s been regarded as a good to plus corner outfielder ever since he came up. I’d love to hear what your issue is with Swisher in the field. My eyes tell me he reads balls well, throws to the right spot, and rarely turns singles into extra base hits. His numbers say the same thing.
I live in Boston, and remember Swisher dropping a routine flyball a year or two ago. Since then, the Boston broadcasters mention that he’s a bad right fielder every game. I’m sensing that they’re your source, and you’re a troll.

You are a loser and you get all your info from fangraphs. Swisher is below average with an average arm. He frequently takes the wrong routes, frequently throws to the wrong base or misses the cut. Just because all your made up stats tell you something different doesn’t mean you have to make up a narrative to make them true. And please stop fucking your cat.
