Remember, these graphs are from the umpire’s point of view.
There’s at least 10 pitches so far out of the strike zone, that it’s unbelievable that they were called strikes.
Davis really screwed up when left-handed hitters were at the plate, which particularly disadvantaged Yankee hitters (red triangles are pitches thrown by Minnesota). But how is a hitter supposed to react when he’s calling balls off the outside corner too (noted by green dots)?
When is this going to end?

I disagree completely. This is very believable.

Wanna place bets on which one of us (me or Glass Carl) gets injured and put on the DL first?

DID SOMEONE SAY BURRITO?
Inquiring Mind April 17, 2012 00:13
Yes! When is your complaining about strikes zones going to end? And when will you tell us how Jeter’s ass taste like?
Cletus April 17, 2012 08:48
Judging by your obsessive love for him, you probably want to taste his ass yourself.
Mike Asxia April 17, 2012 10:59
You say that like its a bad thing
Curved Slightly April 17, 2012 11:53
Why not complain about balls and strikes when it’s blatantly obvious that the strike zone was complete shit last night? When you have pitches that are so far off the plate they look like they could’ve hit the batter, it kinda puts any team at a disadvantage.
I don’t think it’s wrong for someone to point out the horrible inconsistencies with the strike zone, especially since it’s established in the rules and should be equal for both teams. The strike zone last night was completely unacceptable. I hope you drown in the shower tomorrow.
Pete C. April 17, 2012 12:03
Drown in the shower? To much chance he comes out safe. Just to be sure, he should bring an electrical appliance in with him too.

How would a new system work? Have the umpire fit with strike zone glasses?
I’m not joking thats my actual idea
or just set up a target?
I would guess with a computerized strike zone that offense would go through the roof.
Taking away a pitchers ability to get strikes outside the zone would greatly increase hits & walks I’d assume.
But if we did go to computerized strike zone I would like the game to revert back to when batters didn’t step out of the box after every pitch.
Duder April 17, 2012 00:59
But there are umpires whose strike zone is very tight, clearly signaling strikes as balls. I guess a computerized system would be fair to everyone, pitchers and batters.
Barack Obama April 17, 2012 06:34
Fair is me taxing all your income.
Mitt Romney April 17, 2012 09:20
Hey, don’t tax us job creators!
Mitch McConnell April 17, 2012 09:23
This is a cheap political stunt by the President to destoy jobs and investment. Because as everyone knows, destoying jobs and investment is very popular, and will gain him lots of votes. Fortunately, it is so hard to understand my thick Kentucky accent that no one realizes I can contradict myself within a single sentence.

Sen Harry Reid April 17, 2012 16:05
Have we passed a budget yet?
Marshmellow man April 18, 2012 05:28
No, has Mitch passed away yet?
asdfg April 17, 2012 02:35
Also with a computerized stike zone maybe a pitcher would be able to memorize where the corner is better, since it’s not moving all the time. That way he could just focus on that one part and nail it every time.
Fucker April 17, 2012 09:19
Many of the umpires are very good at what they do. many of them are horrendous. You look at their charts after the game, give them opportunities to fix it, and don;t allow them to work home plate if they can’t get it. Simple. It is not rocket science, if I can tell the egregious no calls from center field they can get it from behind the catcher.

Can’t we bitch about our mediocre rotation instead?
Ritardi Losses:2 April 17, 2012 09:52
Dude, I like to bitch as much as anyone else, but you are really unhappy with our rotation? I will give you freddy, but CC will be CC, Kuroda looked good last time around, Nova is still looking good, and Hughes was locked in in ST. People go either way on Hughes, I think he is going to return to form, others don;t. either way we have 3 legit AAA starters ready to go, Pettitte and Pineda.
Legitimately, the only thing we have to complain about it Ritardi’s dopey ingame decisions and Cashman’s failing mental status.
