“I’ve talked about that before, I think you can make too much of a certain number of at-bats, you can start moving guys all the time and then guys come to the ball park and they don’t know where they’re hitting,” Girardi said. “He’s what, third or fourth on our team in RBIs? I’m going to leave him there.”
Hey, he has RBIs! Baseball cards say those are good!

Kevin Millwood May 14, 2012 00:01
The Yankees made me look like a Cy Young winner out there! King Felix? More like King Millwood.
Average fan May 14, 2012 00:13
I’m so sick of this jerk. I wish he could just play 1st base and somebody else could bat for him.
Nice May 14, 2012 00:32
Designated Fielder?
Marshmellow Man May 14, 2012 12:03
Better than designated out.
Ramiro Pena May 14, 2012 14:44
I wish there was such thing as a designated fielder! Then maybe I would actually be useful.
Robbie Jackinson May 15, 2012 01:20
There is. You can have the DH hit for Tex and let the pitcher bat.
Negrodamus May 14, 2012 00:16
Homeboy has chronic bronchitis. So that’s nice.
Negrodamus May 14, 2012 00:17
P.S. Also this: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmedhealth/PMH0001153/
Well shit. That’s not good.
Brian S. May 14, 2012 01:06
So he’ll have to retire soon right?
Brian S. May 14, 2012 01:01
What a faggy excuse. If it wasn’t ‘inflamed lungs’ it would be something else. The guy has only provided one elite season during his tenure here, disappears in the playoffs, almost singlehandedly put the Red Sox in the playoffs on the last day of the season last year, and consumes an assload of payroll. I hate this bum.
Scott Proctor May 14, 2012 01:17
Strangely enough, I was the hero of that game!
Negrodamus May 14, 2012 02:33
Faggy excuse? Are you 12?
Tex sucks at this point, bronchitis or not. I’m simply pointing out that this might be an issue going forward with him.
Brian S. May 14, 2012 04:13
I wasn’t calling you a fag. I was calling Teixeira one. He comes up with excuses because he is garbage. This ‘bronchial problem’ won’t be the first one.
Sensitive RAB Guy May 14, 2012 07:19
can you retire soon?
Brian S. May 14, 2012 14:46
Seriously, you’re a terrible imposter. You’re fired.
Brian S. May 14, 2012 14:49
I agree but only 50%.
The ghost of Flanny May 14, 2012 00:41

Quotes like that from Girardi are really disturbing, and says a lot about this team. It’s clear that the team as a whole is stubborn and refuses to make any adjustments, besides Granderson and Jeter. Time to fire Girardi and Long, useless overrated fuck. Cano and A-Rod have picked it up. We’re fucking waiting for you Tex.
Terry Francona May 14, 2012 00:59
I’d love to manage the Yankees.
Dumbass Sox Fan May 14, 2012 01:16
TRAITAH!!!!!
Bexy May 14, 2012 01:36
Andy could manage and pitch at the same time!!!!
George Steinbrenner May 14, 2012 01:41
You’re hired!
Girardi, you’re fired!

Mike Asxia May 14, 2012 17:54

Saul Goodman May 14, 2012 04:29
Pre-2010 Teixeira is a distant memory. He was on a HOF path back then. For shame.
Kevin Maas May 14, 2012 04:37
my career yankee slash line that got me released was
.232/.332/.427
think about that.
Big Bam May 14, 2012 05:22
They didn’t have to pay you shit when they did.
Different situation, with the amount of payroll this guy hoovers up.
Previous aprils May 14, 2012 08:44
Tex never dOes shit the first month and a half/2months. He winds up with 30+homers and 100rbi every year. Stop acting like this doesnt happen every year.
cash May 14, 2012 09:04
he starts late, bit of a late bloomer. seasons still early. not worried about tex. his 8th inning K had no bearing on the outcome of the game. the paying fans need to be patient.
Big Red Retard (BRR) May 14, 2012 09:15
Get a pinch hitter God fucking dammit. I’m tired of this peter-puffing butt-fucking ass peel.
Duh May 14, 2012 09:20
Let’s face it, the money has an awful lot to do with it. You can look back at his recent past and make statements that he doesn’t “heat up” until May or June every year, but for $180 million, you certainly expect performance all season, and his performance thus far is simply not acceptable. Sure, he’ll likely turn it on at some point, but he’s had far too many chokes and he’s occupying an important line-up slot. I like Tex, he does play an outstanding first base, but … c’mon man, can you come up big at least once or twice in April or May?
Ritardi Losses:2 May 14, 2012 09:30
The issue is Ritardi’s obsession with where guys bat in the line up. Who fucking cares when they bat in the lineup?! If Tex is slow in April, bat him seventh until he starts hitting. No way Ibanez and Swisher should be getting fewer at bats than horse face right now. Its just like Jeter last year. Seriously Ritardi is a fucking moron and it is painful to listen to his reasoning.
Call me Crazy May 14, 2012 15:05
Time to bump that count to three.
Did you miss the part in yesterday’s game where they pitched around Cano – walked him with the bases loaded – just to get to Texiera? Put anybody but Martin in the lineup behind Cano, and he gets a chance to put the ball in play there.
At the very least, he should have had Jones stand in the on-deck circle while Cano was batting.
Ritardi Losses:3 May 14, 2012 15:16
I was on the fence, but you can couple that with Ritardi’s lack of a “losing a close game”-guy other than your lefty specialist who sucks against righties.
Seriously, why is it everytime we are losing he leaves in the lefty?
TSJC May 15, 2012 13:45
When you make a bitch your punk you have to try her nice.
Saul Goode May 14, 2012 09:59

Brian S. May 14, 2012 10:54

Jenna Jameson May 14, 2012 12:21
Did someone say stinky?
Randy Velarde May 14, 2012 11:38
So I heard they sent this Nunez kid packin’. Any chance I can get a shot?
Leather Bound Books May 14, 2012 12:03
Seriously how did a guy like this end up like this?
He was like the surest long term contract ever. 28 year old monster power hitting first baseman.
Comes to New York and forgets how to play baseball.
I feel like this is a lame bad luck brian meme.
Marshmellow Man May 14, 2012 12:11
Ironic how this team’s had so many great 1st basemen. Now with the two latest big aquisitions Tex, Giambi, when you look at their whole game they’re just lacking.
Giambino May 14, 2012 12:24
He’s a scrub compared to me. He can’t even try to do steroids.
BadAssBillyCurtis May 15, 2012 13:46
Rat spines!
EEEEE. NunEEEEz May 14, 2012 12:48
The teixiera contract was definitely an error.
Baltimore fan May 14, 2012 13:16
We no longer need to boo this guy. Instead, we now cheer his plate appearances!

It takes a real man to go both ways.
Eric Chavez May 14, 2012 14:20
I can play first base
Joe Páwlikowski May 14, 2012 14:50
Can’t Nunez play 1b?
Nancy Newman May 14, 2012 18:48

I like titties!
My cousin is hung like a dura flame.
Jayson Truitt Edward Nix May 14, 2012 21:16
1B is the only position I haven’t played. I can’t suck any worse than Marky Mark Teschhaira.
New Metrics May 14, 2012 21:33
Call me crazy but I like Runs Batted In!
I like seeing Runs getting Batted In.
I like when a guy is a 3rd with less than two out and he scores via being Batted In.
I like when a player at the plate with the team down by 3 runs hits a grand slam and BATS those RUNS IN to win the game.
Mark Tex May 14, 2012 21:39
I am a bust. I was a steroid user in Texas. I am not as slick as Ryan Braun.
I lack heart. I am a good defender but I got paid to hit the ball hard. I can’t do that anymore. I make people remember Giambi fondly. I am a homosexual. I play like I’m on the mets. I have no pride.
I like cashing my big check while many of the fan base suffers in poverty.
I like flaunting my wealth by giving at bats away and being stubborn not to hit in shift.
I spend my time with my investment team making sure my money is safe. I don’t have time to practice hitting sliders anymore.
Laura Posada May 15, 2012 03:00
Did you say bust?
