I miss George, a lot. If he was still around, we might have actually signed Aroldis Chapman when he was interested in the Yanks. He probably would have had scouts on Mike Trout and grabbed him too. Craig Kimbrel would probably be coming out of the pen… and so on, instead of clowns like Clay Rapada and Boone Logan, whom everyone tries so desperately hard to pin a silver lining on.
Look at Michael Kay. “Boone Logan and his SPARKLING ERA!” His ERA doesn’t mean shit, when you come into the game with the bases juiced and start the inning by clearing them. Not charged to him! I don’t know every sabermetrics stat out there, but there should be a stat for relievers called Runs Allowed To Score. That’s right, RATS. If this was a stat, the rotating door of bullpen clowns would have more RATS than NYC itself!
