Russell Martin: 2-4, 3-run HR & picked off runner at 3B
Maligned for most of the season, Martin is hitting for the most power in his career with 20 HRs and a .190 ISO. He still has a microscopic BABIP at .220, but it’s much improved from the .190 he had in the beginning of July, and it’s likely one of the reasons his production has improved.
And hopefully, he’s getting hot at the right time. His September has been great: .274/.369/.562 in 84 PA.

More brilliance from our stat worshipping manager. Martin has been Killing it, so rather than keep Jeter in the field & use Martin at DH he decides to use Nunez & install an automatic out in the lineup in the form of Andruw Jones. Honestly bases loaded twice & this team can’t do shit.

i can understand Girardi to some extent about using Jones, hes in the final days, he would like to see if he can come out of it so he has a reason to include him in the post season roster, sadly its the wrong move since Jones should have been DFA’d for months now
