Honestly every hitter on this team should give their playoff share to the pitching staff. This is fucking disgusting & inexcusable. Girardi, I don’t give a fuck if your father just passed, your hnadling of this lineup has been indefensible. You want to yank Swisher fine, Alex deserved better. When do you sit Granderson, who is basically a fucking wind tunnel with the amount of strikeouts. Cano, you ever gonna jump him about his lack of hustle? As for actual strategy like a bunt or. A hit & run, right that’s not who we are. No you are a impotent bunch of pussies about to get swept because of your lack of fundamentals, go to hell.

The lineup is a nonfactor because the bottom line is they can’t score any runs, any. Lineup controversy is just an outlet for people to be angry, because let’s face it, everyone is angry with this team right now (pitching staff notwithstanding). How many runs have they scored in this series, how many that didn’t come via a homer? A big fat fucking zero, that’s how many. Now if they actually hit homers at a decent pace it wouldn’t be so bad, but they’ve scored five runs this entire series. Five runs in 30 innings, with four of those coming in one inning. That makes the Padres look like the 1999 Cleveland Indians.

Fuck em.

Is this a surprise to anyone? Really? All season long, they’ve lived for the long ball. And for months we’ve all been saying that when they face good pitching in a short series and aren’t hitting home runs, they were doomed. Guess what? They’re facing good pitching in a short series and they aren’t hitting home runs … thus they are down 3. Frankly, they should have lost the O’s series and shouldn’t even be here. This is not shocking, we’ve seen it all year. What truly sucks is that they’ve gotten unbelievably good pitching throughout … and yet it has gone to waste. To win in the post season, you need to manufacture runs … they can’t even string two hits together, let alone score creatively. They were done before they started and without Jeter, it’s even worse. Grandy and Swish need to go, but we’re stuck with A-Rod. And did anybody else see Cano smiling in the dugout late in the game? Really?

Thumb up 4 Thumb down 3

What is surprising to everyone except debbie downers like yourself is that we have been beating good pitchers all year. Now you want to classify the scrubs we have faced up to Verlander as “good pitching” that our lucky sluggers have no chance against. Its a big ugly slump plain and simple.

Staying positive, if the Yankees had hit even just a LITTLE BIT, they’d easily be up 2-1. Fister wasn’t dominant, he was kinda all over the place. Sanchez is a bum who got lucky going against a bunch of headcases putting too much pressure on themselves. Verlander is Verlander, can’t do much there, but they still kept it close and had the go-aheads on in the end. If they can ride CC to a 1-0 victory at the very least, then the Tigers rotation starts over. They’ve seen these guys and what they have. Let Fister beat himself, luck runs out (Baltimore), and best case it goes to 7, Verlander comes back on short rest after throwing 130+. Against CC.
Staying realistic, if the hitting hasn’t come yet, why would it at this point.
The Yankees have an opportunity. They can prove to everyone, including themselves, who they really are as ball players. And they can erase the historic black mark of the franchise that was 2004. All they need to do is hit, A LITTLE BIT.
(Of course, god forbid this series finds its way back to the Stadium, Yanks may get distracted by the cricket sounds again. It was mentioned, and it’s actually sickeningly true: Yankee Stadium fans don’t deserve a comeback.)
