If we had $200 million to burn, the Yankees would never lose a game.

I hope ESPN is as harsh on Fielder & Cabrera as they were on Alex and all the Yankees. Cabrera looked at a pitch right down the middle & Fielder was just as pitiful. .182? Come on ESPN make sure you do an Outside the Lines on the Tigers 2nd world series loss.

You know they won’t be. The narrative has already been written. The Tigers were a plucky team that dominated the Yankees but had too much time off before the WS started. Their success was their undoing.

Seriously, fuck sports journalism.

Here’s the moral to the story: If you want to beat the NL send the Yankees or (gag) the Red Sox. We appear to be the only franchises up to the task the last five years. Yes I am excluding The White Sox who didn’t even make it back to the postseason the next year. Fuck the team with the seventh best record in the AL went down like Kristina Rose.

Remember when people made a big deal about Detroit sweeping the Yankees?

Wasn’t the real Yankees team. It was the Astros hitting with good pitching.

The regular season is fraugth with highs and lows, streaks and slumps, and is therefore the best indicator in terms of the cream rising to the top, just based on how long it is. The post-season is more susceptible to a team being hot or cold and we’ve now seen it twice in the same post-season. Yeah, the layoff probably didn’t help, but yet if the Tigers had swept then all anyone would talk about is how they had 6 days off to re-energize and the Giants simply ran out of steam. Either way, it’s dumb. Giants pitched better, Tigers became impatient, then desperate, just like the Yankees did. Better team won.
