The Orioles took care of business against the lowly Red Sox. Now, the Yankees must do the same against the 69-90 laughingstock of professional sports.
With the advent of the one-game wildcard playoff to see who goes into the American League Division Series, it’s imperative the Yankees win the division. We know that the best team doesn’t always win a short series, but that’s even more magnified in a one-game winner-takes-all shootout. Anything can happen — Nunez makes an error, Swisher does an air guitar and a ball goes through his legs, Arod gets a chest wax and pulls his oblique…anything.
Winning the division is very important.

I’m not scared cause stats say they will hit better with RISP
STD's October 1, 2012 11:24
Let’s roll the dice then, like you do every night with me.
The Truth October 1, 2012 11:29
This team deserves whatever fate befalls it. It has been handed numerous opportuniites to put the division away & due to their sickly numbers with RISP, the brain dead manager’s ability to overanalyze every fucking pitching decision and the general manager’s brain dead decision to acquire a pitcher who will do nothing this season but get fatter.

so lame
The Knicks are Back. October 1, 2012 19:14
Not sure you can call it a brain dead decision yet. Pineda’s 2012 WAR is higher than Montero’s. L o l.

The Yankees HAVE to win the division outright this week. A tie would force them to play in Baltimore to decide it on Thursday. If they lose, they have to board a plane for Oakland or back home on Friday and then if they win they have to go home again on Saturday for the ALDS. Could be a disaster playing all these games with no off day till Monday. They need to destroy this lifeless Sox team and need the Rays, who are still alive (barely) to beat the O’s.
Two large, hairy nuts October 1, 2012 12:06
Yanks…sack the fuck up this week! The Sox are an awful, awful baseball club. Would there be anything sweeter than clinching the division this week AS WELL as helping Bobby V win his last place finish? Pussies.
The Truth October 1, 2012 12:21
Honestly that is why this is annoying as hell. The Sox had no problem laying down for the Orioles. I don’t give a shit what they said or how they played they went through the fucking motions. These assholes would be “heroes” in the minds of their retarded fan vase if they cost the yanks the division. I expect the Rays to play hard because they have some integrity. As for the Sox put some runs up early & they may wilt & die.
The Truth October 1, 2012 12:27
All the more reason to do this. To make these pathetic assholes cry. Honestly these people nned to get a fucking life.

How do any of those fucking idiots root for that abomination of a sports franchise ?
The Better Kind of Truth October 1, 2012 17:13
Dewd you constantly post about policing how other fans should feel.
Let them be. Why are so you concerned about how red sox fans feel?
Youse fag or what?

That English Sox Fan can’t be real, right?
Yaz October 1, 2012 13:36
Lonborg and I were just saying what losers Boston fans are these days. For the record, that kid on second looks like a weasel, too.
Smart Guy October 1, 2012 13:58
i read a lot of people stating that they lost to baltimore so they were giving in to them and that they will play hard vs the yankees for the sake of sticking it to them.
I do wonder if maybe, just maybe they lost to baltimore because baltimore is better and if we lose to boston it may have nothing to do with boston playing hard but the Yankees just not being that good?
I mean we lost some games that were right there for this team to just win, We lost games to the bluejays and twins. We had such an easy schedule down the road when we were up 10 games that theres no excuse for this team even having to be in this situation. all of a sudden if we lose a game or 2 to the redsox its because the redsox played hard vs us in comparison to the Yankees? fuck that, its more on this pathetic Yankee team bending over.
The Truth October 1, 2012 14:53
You mean Baltimore winning had nothing to do with the Red Sox sending out three tomato can pitchers? Doubront at least tried.
Smart Guy October 1, 2012 15:02
the redsox have been throwing useless pitchers all year, they have been hurt or under extreme suckage. The Orioles have been throwing some mediocre pitchers out there, joe saunders and randy wolf? come on now
The Truth October 1, 2012 15:17
Say what you want about Lester & Buchholz they are still capable starters. You cannot say the same for Aaron Cook & Zach Stewart he of the 27.00 ERA.
Smart Guy October 1, 2012 15:34
im not talking bad about lester or buchholz, but we faced aaron cook last time we couldnt get more than 3 runs off of him even though we kept getting hits and walks vs him.
i dont think its a conspiracy theory that the O’s got to face Cook, we faced him 3 times.
Pete Abraham @PeteAbe
No Pedroia or Ellsbury for the #RedSox tonight.
so much for trying to field the best team vs the yankees cause they have such a big need to win these 3 games.
The redsox want to be home already if the yankees lose to these guys they have noone else to blame but themselves
Ritardi October 1, 2012 14:23
Today’s astute manager knows that you should rest players who are hitting well, to preserve their vitality, while poor performers should be given the chance to work out their difficulties with regular playing time. Carry on.

This kind of “must win” is exactly what MLB wanted when they created the second wild card. Kudos to Selig.

Don’t worry, Yankees fans! My cadre of elite Jew string-pullers will make sure the Bronx Bombers win. We have a lot of money riding on it.
