When using quotation marks to show actual words written, the punctuation mark should precede the final quotation mark. That is to say, your snark should have been written as follows. What’s an “alot?” Dick.
I’m of the opinion that to not do what Girardi did last night in the 9th would have been gross negligence. As Harvey Araton was tweeting BEFORE the decision: “how can you look your team in the eye and say you gave them the best chance to win if you send up Arod in the 9th.”
So I’m a little less effusive with my praise. However, I’m not ungrateful. Having Arod at DH demonstrated that he probably planned this out earlier in the day and was ready for it. I think that’s just a manager doing what he’s supposed to do, but we’ve seen less with many a manager.
Arod should (rightfully) be back out today vs Saunders. Expect the idiot fans at the stadium to not understand why and boo him mercilessly.
Now if only we had someone to pinch hit for Swisher & Granderson.
