Has new Yankee Stadium become so gentrified that it’s now an easy place to play?
According to Tigers’ outfielder Quintin Berry, it is.
“This is a very easy place to play now,” Berry told Yahoo! Sports. “Coming from Oakland, the fans there were so rowdy. It was easier to come here.”
If there’s one positive benefit that can be taken away from an otherwise miserable ALCS, it’s that the mainstream media is finally catching up to what we’ve been talking about since 2011.
The articles have been everywhere and people across the country are wondering what the hell has happened. Hopefully, this will spur the Yankee power-brokers to make some changes and foster an atmosphere like that of the old Stadium (RIP).

Thankfully the security unit never bothers me because I’m always in Manhatten with escorts and a pile of blow instead of at my seats behind home plate.
Chad Qualls October 15, 2012 20:17
I was thrown out of Yankee Stadium too…
But that was because I was dealt to Pittsburgh.
Brandon October 15, 2012 20:17
You know it’s bad when an absolute scrub like Quintin Berry says it
Ha Ha Heehee October 16, 2012 06:52

I was there on Thursday night and Saturday night sitting in section 111. My job hooked me up with the tickets. I was warned on 4 different occasions that excessive cheering or booing would no be tolerated. Luckily the guard had a 3 strikes you’re out policy and I was able to push my limits until I drank myself to sleep in the late innings. Security will toss you out for cheering & jeering and it’s a fucking joke. In Boston you can literally assault a mother fucker in the seats and the most they’ll do is move the jerk off that just dumped a beer on you and tell you to man up.
Better Call Saul October 15, 2012 21:19
So you can’t cheer or boo at a baseball game. That sounds like a fucking Twilight Zone episode. WTF.
Steve from Bayside October 16, 2012 11:09

ScottyV October 16, 2012 01:58
Are you serious? Is section 111 a family section or something like that? This makes no sense to me at all.
Vic October 16, 2012 08:43
RimJob Mike’s story (odd name, dude) is something I’ve heard from several different fans. Hard to believe, but I’m hearing it from multiple people.
Wait October 17, 2012 00:38
Did you just imply that its better in Boston?
Wow. Stellar Fan
Mayor Bloomberg October 15, 2012 20:26
Let’s keep the noise down. No large sodas. Only soy hot dogs. Beers will be served in Dixie cups, reducing the price to $10 each. And if you’re darker than me you’ll be stopped and frisked 12 times between the stadium and the subway.
Better Call Saul October 15, 2012 21:20
You’re a wormy little fucker, you know that?
Rambo October 15, 2012 21:00
Fuck em.
F. Stanley Morgan October 15, 2012 21:55
Hate to differ, old boy; but, frankly, I like it. Without the insufferable noise of that vulgar crowd, one can hear more distinctly the crack of the bat, the whack of the ball in the fielder’s glove, the thump-thump-thumping as the runner pounds the base-paths, the guttural utterance of the umpire as he shouts out strikes and outs. What is more bracing than to indulge in a crisp autumn breeze running through one’s hair, a tart golden brew tingling the tongue, and the emerald field spread out before you, as you watch man struggle against man in this most perfect and symmetrical game– nine men, nine innings, and three sets of three strikes for side out. Play ball!
Yankees Fan October 15, 2012 22:10
I brought a car battery to the Stadium to throw at that shithead, Swisher, but I missed. :(
Disgruntled Fan October 15, 2012 23:27
Swisher probably would swing and miss at it anyway…
Yankee Fan October 16, 2012 01:43
Did Nick Swisher actually have to balls to imply he shouldn’t be getting booed?
please Nick go fuck yourself then he tops it off with “it might better to get out of here and play in Det”
You phony no good cancer loving asshole. fuck you. get lost. you fear october more than cancer.
Johnny Damon October 15, 2012 22:36
People would cheer if the team had more than 3 hits and actually scored some runs.
Who the fuck is Quintin Berry and who gives a shit what he says?
Billy Jack Bullcrap October 15, 2012 23:11
This is some crazy shit. This team is getting more and more aggravating. If you can’t cheer for a team how can you justify cheering for a team? Ya dig?
Get a clue October 15, 2012 23:43
1. Almost all the left field upper deck was empty at the start of the game, and those are “cheaper” seats. By previous theories where the “noiser, blue collar crowd” would sit.
2. How many stadiums are rockin’ the foundation to a scoreless, strike-out-a-thon?
Enough with this non fucking story. You’re simply bitter that you can afford season tickets. Move out of your mother’s basement and get a job. When the Yankees actually score a run and you can hear crickets, then come at us with this shit.
Tradenickswisher October 15, 2012 23:45
I was at game five… Anyone care?
typo October 15, 2012 23:47
“…bitter that you CANT afford season tickets”
Unrelated observation October 15, 2012 23:59
How the fuck would Quentin berry know. The cocksucker never even played at the oys
Quentin Berry October 16, 2012 01:15
Because I was there in the loge seats! Rooting like an animal for Tino!
I used to lead the cheers for Knobluach when he moves to left field
I know what I am talking bout
Reality October 16, 2012 00:40
This had been a problem for at least 2 years. People citing the Yankees bad offense in the playoffs are ignoring the shitty atmosphere during the reg season.

Jesus Quintana October 16, 2012 01:03
Yankee stadium? It’s bush league sega stuff. Laughable man.
Bronx Bomber October 16, 2012 01:13
It’s about these absurd ticket prices. why would a working class fan spend that kind of bread when he can watch in comfort of own home. I’m talking a single guy not to mention a family of four.
Fuck the stienbreeners – who priced out the people who really love baseball
let the yankees make their bed with the low life mother fucking upper closs
assholes!
Dollars and sense October 16, 2012 07:54
Boston and Philly games cost more to attend.
And tickets to this year’s playoff games at the Stadium have actually been cheaper than they have been in the past.
Kick this Dead Horse October 16, 2012 11:23
That would imply that this post had no merit…
Please don’t post reasonable explanations here.
It’s the “Poor Atmosphere” (fictitious) that is causing the Yankees not to bat.
Which is why the only hit/runs/dingers they’ve achieved over the last “2 seasons” have been at opposing ball clubs. Look up the stats. .000 batting average at home last 162 games, 0 RBIs. All HRs at opposing parks. Found it on http://www.chokeonthesestats.com
For a site that brags about its baseball intellect, this is junk. Might as well get the Yankee info from the Los Angeles Times.
After a ton of fans left, down 4-0, the place ERUPTED when Ibanez went yard. Stop finding lame excuses secretly targeted at your own anger becuause you dont like the price of seats.
How ‘bout you get us an interview with Long, or speak to other examples in history where teams suddenly couldn’t hit a ball with a sheet of plywood, let alone a bat. Or, stick to comedy.
Worthless. Maybe for your next trick you can get Skip Bayless?
Sunk your own ship October 16, 2012 14:11
“after a ton of fans left”
“the place erupted [after] Ibanez went yard”
“i’m not gay”
First two prove nomaas’ point, who the fuck leaves a playoff game early? Second, of course the fans cheer after a homerun, wheres the cheering tohat will hopefully inspire the players to perform?
Third one was implied by your whiny bitch attitude, I guarantee one day you’ll be out of the closet and you can think back and say I was the first one who knew!
Compassion October 17, 2012 00:35
I’m sorry that you lack simple reading comprehension. It’s too bad that your feeble attempt at an arguement was to flail limply by tossing “gay” comments. Projection… such beauty in it.
The blatent ineptness saturating your response can only mean that you were the “author” of the original post… wait, I’m giving you far too much credit.
Dont fret… if you work hard, maybe you’ll make assistant manager at Modell’s.
hank October 16, 2012 01:51
I didn’t price out the fans. I priced them inside their homes so I can sell advertising to a program that does not get taped and then have the commercials skipped over. YES is the most profitable television on earth. I’m thinking about cranking the volume of the jumbotron so no one can even hear the crack of a bat. Then you all can stay home and only the friends of the advertisers come. If you don’t like it go to Ponzi Scheme Stadium in Flushing. Scream all you want.
Leather Bound Books October 16, 2012 04:41
I doubt this will ever go back to what it was. I hope it does, but until then, just because these kind of things (representation of what I believe is NY & the TriState area) I have more emotional investment in the Giants.
And yeah, I chose to watch them romp SF instead of game 2 on Sunday. You can take a wild guess whether or not I regretted it as I occasionally checked my phone for the pinstripes score.
I will be watching tomorrow night, although my hopes are in the basement.
Lyle 'Chip' Chipperson October 16, 2012 06:19
Fuck the Tigers an fuck Verlander. Go the Yankees. #You’llNeverHave27 #GoDownFighting

Alex is a $30MM a year bum. He should donate his salary to charity. And with his educational background, he is probably fit to shine shoes at Grand Central.

Robinson Cano October 16, 2012 12:41

You fucks need to cheer for me! Cheer, goddamnit!

Nick Swisher October 16, 2012 15:03
The pitchers don’t hit in this league, so you’re shit out of luck.
Dripping with Sarcasm October 16, 2012 12:37
You know its funny… every sports analyst Ive been hearing has been focusing on the “price of tickets” as the major cause for the Yanks lack of production.
Oh… and bang up job swiping from another site.
http://www.barstoolsports.com/nyc/super-page/yankee-stadium-a-ghost-town-tigers-say-its-easy-to-play-there-now/
Could it be that some Yankee fans are spoiled, being in the playoffs for the last TWO decades straight? Expecting to win? In comparision what have Baltimore and Oakland done recently? No, that cant be it. Its the price of tickets. Hands down.
Wow, this is a moronic topic…
andrew33 October 16, 2012 13:32
Sure, they are going to lower ticket prices because yankee upper management really really really really really cares about the everyday yankee fan that can’t afford all those empty seats that you see on TV during the game. Smarten up, they dont care, most of those seats are sold and paid for, this isn’t rah rah college. The new breed only cares about the bottom line in the P and L.
Fact October 16, 2012 14:13
All you tools that are advocating booing the team absolutely do not deserve to enjoy the ride if we come back from this series.
Better Fact October 16, 2012 14:23
Any tool that has watched this team this october thinks
the yankees are beating the Tigers four of the next six
doesn’t deserve to be a fan.
take that fake hope to shea
yankees are about reality
Joe Girardi October 16, 2012 15:32
Hey guys do you like this lineup?
Ichiro RF
Cano 2B
Teixeira 1B
Ibanez DH
A-Rod 3B
Granderson CF
Martin C
Nix SS
Gardner LF
Joe Girardi October 16, 2012 20:40
ever since the Ibanez experiment made me irreproachable, I’ve tried to be “cute” with the lineup and I can’t get out of my own damn way! Let’s bench Arod again! weeeeeeee
Nick Social October 16, 2012 23:22
Because A-Rod has been doing so fucking well.
Concerned Fan October 16, 2012 17:33
Great now that A-Rod is working on his poon tang mojo, we have Kate Upton vs some NJ slag 4 rows back.
Who do you think wins that mojo battle?
Kate Upton vs. NJ Slag 4 rows back
The Truth October 16, 2012 19:20
The fact that A-Rod is being benched for Nunez means that Girardi’s brain is as deep into dementia as his fathers was.
Too soon October 16, 2012 22:15
Too soon.
Billy Jack Bullcrap October 16, 2012 20:29
It’s obvious that A-Rod’s hand is still an issue. The cure is poon juice.
Billy Packer October 16, 2012 21:22
One run? This game is ovah!
Swisha October 16, 2012 22:15
If I was in the game, we’d be winning.
