Brian Cashman, arriving last night at the General Managers Meetings, reiterated he expects Alex Rodriguez to be a Yankee in 2013.
Asked whether he anticipates receiving calls from teams interested in acquiring the Yankees’ aging third baseman, Cashman said, “I don’t see that happening.”
Shocker.
For those who haven’t read it yet, here’s our blueprint for what to do with Alex.

What exactly does anyone expect him to say? Honestly, he’s right … unless the Yankees were going to absorb a ton of the contract, who would want A-Rod? If, ultimately, there is a team willing to absorb an amount that makes sense, so the Yankees could fill in the 3B position and still save money from what they would otherwise pay A-Rod, they’re not going to move him. Pujols, by the way, is going to go the same way … the Angels will soon regret making that move, and teams in the future will surely think twice about such ludicrous contracts.

Alex is not a real Yankee. He’s a Mariner!
And, I have a card to prove it.
Donald Trump November 7, 2012 22:53
Show us the card, then.

for all the talk of the uber-rich uninterested yankee fans
I happen to be a broke ass Yankee fan who spends his time marketing
himself as a Yankee fan who happens to sit in a section of seats that are very far from the actual game.
Wow am I fucking tool or what?!!
No wonder I’m broke.
Haha November 7, 2012 17:27
Fucking trolls…
Who leads “Red Sux Nation” in the stands? Oh wait… that’s right… NOBODY, ’cause you have no fans. You just have a bunch of drunk college kids from all over the country and world who thought it would be funny to get trashed at the stadium and “experience the rivalry.”
Jay Destro November 9, 2012 14:08
I’ll give you a handy Vinny. I’ll even use lube.
Karl Rove November 7, 2012 16:35
In the coming weeks, the Yankees will trade A-Rod and someone will eat all of his salary. No more worrying about A-Rod, Yankees fans.
Donald Crump November 7, 2012 17:08
I think Obama is to blame for A-Rod. The Yankees spent like crazy with a republican in office. Can we start blaming the DH spot on Obama too? I think so. What about the metric system? Obama. That burning feeling you get when you pee after jizzing? Obama.
Obama November 9, 2012 14:11
Get ready for 4 more yrs of shitty economy and no employment especially for brothers.

It’s not gay if you stick a finger in your arse when you think of A-Rod right?
