With some recent stories about the Yankees apparently debating whether Gardner or Granderson should be the CF (if it wasn’t already glaringly obvious), here’s some numbers.
UZR for Granderson (2010-2012)
2010: +6.4
2011: -5.1
2012: -17.8
TotalZone (2010-2012)
2010: -1
2011: -4
2012: -12
And according to the eyes of fans, his first step is getting worse every season.
Meanwhile, the Yankees have one of the best defenders in all of baseball in RUN BMG.

Yeah, but who is getting paid more, is more well known, and draws more fans to the team? For a second there I think you actually thought this was about fielding the best team and winning ball games, and not a business to make money. You silly.

Point well taken, but even given the Baby Boss shitshow we’ve inherited, it’s not like he’d be languishing on the bench. He’d just be in left instead, where his propensity for taking awful routes to fly balls wouldn’t hurt as much while still giving him the opportunity to drive hanging curveballs, jersey sales, and whatever else.

I did not get steroids from Anthony Bosch or Tosh or whatever that clowns name is. I’m completely 100% innocent.
