Why you ask? Because he’s already marketing himself.
“This is probably going to spark a bunch of stuff and [Yankees media relations director Jason] Zillo is going to be mad at me, but it’s one of those things where it’s like, ‘Do you think you have the capability to start? Yes,’” Chamberlain said.
“Do I have four pitches that I can throw for a strike? Yes. Do I have two plus pitches in the bullpen that I can throw at any time? Yes. I guess I’m trying to have my cake and eat it, too. I feel like I’m good enough to do both. I’ve proven that I can do both.”
Do I have a mustache that looks mad creepy? Yes.
He actually didn’t say that last one, but he should have.
Translation: “I’m gonna get paid somewhere else.”
Flashback: We wrote this about Joba in March 2010, after the faux 5th starter spring training competition

Let him go start somewhere, he cannot be any better than a number 4 starter so if that is what he wants he can be mediocre somewhere else. The days of thinking Joba was going to be “special” are OVER!
Number 4 starters February 27, 2013 01:50
We’re insulted!
The Set Up guy February 27, 2013 01:52
I was born to play in that role. It was all my 10 cent head could comprehend. Fuck you Cashman
the 8th inning was a special inning for me & the fans.
Kevin S February 27, 2013 04:06
He’s definitely a solid #6.
The Truth February 27, 2013 08:11
I want him to go someplace else and hopefully pitch two perfect games and have three twenty strikeout games. Why/ To make dumb fuck Francessa look like an even bigger asshole than he is. All we kept hearing from him and every other brain dead media douche in this town is “He’s da eigth innin guy.” How the fuck do we know what this kid could have become since the Yankees fucked him up from the minute he joined the squad, and yes the blame falls on Cashman and St. Joe Torre. Toree, becuase he was so fucking clueless on how yo use a bullpen that the front office basically told him how to use Joba. If that isn’t an indictment on the former regime what is?
Jesse Jackson JR February 27, 2013 09:47
Preach on brotha! Why Joba is relegated to the bullpen and Nova continues to pitch (dissappoint) is beyond me. Nova’s shit plays better in the pen.
Nova's Shit February 27, 2013 09:51
I’m PUSHED in better in the pen
Wayne Lapierre February 27, 2013 08:46
If only all the players we really hated could go to one team so we could root against them. Oh wait, that team, has Youk, Arod and Joba on it, and its this years Yankees! This team can suck my balls. Cashman has really shit the bed since he went nuts over Louise.
Wayne Lapierre February 27, 2013 08:47
Remember girls, guns keep you safe, just ask Blade Runner’s gf!
Cashman February 27, 2013 09:08
Haha, looking back at that 2010 post you can see my genius GM skills in full effect! Vasquez lol!
Robinson Tilapia February 27, 2013 11:35
I’m shocked that people don’t think something I think. It makes me think that they are not true Yankee fans and that I’m the best. I also would like to give a shout out to my main doodoo stain Ted “Felcher” Nelson.
I believe that the Yankees will keep Joba in the pen because I’m illiterate and I can’t read between the lines.
RAB Commentator February 27, 2013 14:06
This.
Rambo February 27, 2013 19:45
I hope he signs somewhere else and has an ace caliber season. Maybe then the dumb fucks in the front office and on the air will realize just how fucking overrated and retarded it is to immediately condemn a guy to the bullpen. Fuck relieving spots for top prospects, you do that AFTER they show they suck dick at starting. Every other team brings up top pitching prospects in a relief role to give em a taste of the league and get adjusted, but what happens when the Yankees do? The white trash fans and FO start shitting themselves over a prospect who dominated the minors STARTING (which obviously means he’s gonna tear through an inning or two) they get spoiled and, since they still cling to that stupid belief about it “taking a certain mindset to close” or that relief pitching is even 1/100th as valuable as starting is what got us in this mess.
Fuck em.

It is sad and ironic No Maas has stepped way up in quantity and quality of content and still many commenters whine about RAB.
