When the Yankees re-signed Brendan Ryan, we asked if this was a sign that beatwriter favorite Eduardo Nunez was on his way out?

On Wednesday, the Yankees traded for 26-year old Padres minor league utility-man, Dean Anna. The Illinois native played SS, 3B, 2B, and LF in 2013 for Triple-A Tuscon. Is this yet another sign Nuney’s days are numbered?

Dean Anna hit a very impressive .331/.410/.482 last season, although the Pacific Coast League is known to inflate numbers. Still, he could be a cool little find.

We found this video interview of him. He looks like he should be in A Bronx Tale with a box of cigarettes rolled up into the sleeve of his T-shirt.
