When it looked like the Yankees might have to be called something else other than the “Bombers”, Brett Michael Gardner hit the club’s first home run of the season in a 6-4 victory over Toronto — a two-run shot in the 4th. He also stole a base (#2 of the season), drew a walk, and scored two runs. The homegrown Yankee product is off to a nice start with a line of .278/.409/.444.

Kelly Johnson also came through with a key double in the first that knocked in two runs. The bullpen trio of Adam Warren, Shawn Kelley, and David Robertson combined for three scoreless to keep the Jays at bay in the latter innings.
